Hollis Johnson, age 79, of Bowling Green, KY, began his eternal life on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Bowling Green. The Barren County native was born on March 25, 1934 to the late Gus and Mary Elizabeth Childress Johnson. He was the husband of Bernice Minyard Johnson.
He was U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Cuban Crisis. He retired from Houchens Industries as a Store Manager; was a member of Park City and Cave City Lions Club; was the former Park City Mayor and a devoted member of Cedar Hill United Baptist Church where he was once their Song Leader and Church Treasurer.
Besides being survived by his faithful and loving wife, Bernice, he is further survived by his daughter, Vicki Johnson of Bowling Green, KY; one sister, Cova England (Lester) of Horse Cave City; two sisters-in-law, Nell Johnson of Glasgow, KY and Lucille Johnson of Cave City, KY and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery with Bro. Malcolm Doyle officiating the services.
