During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific. He retired as an inspector at Holley Carburetor and was a farmer. He was a dedicated, lifelong member and deacon at Beaver Dam United Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Darrell Cassady (Marcia) and Donald Cassady (Jo Ann) of Chalybeate, KY; two daughters, Glenna Webb (Johnny) and Liz Storey (Richard) of Bowling Green, KY; nine grandchildren, Andrea Webb Powell (Greg), Rich Storey (Angela), Marty Cassady (Stephanie), Kyle Cassady (Staffanne), Ben Storey (Ashley), Adam Cassady (Emily), Catherine Ann Woods (Chris), Drew Cassady and Craig Cassady (Erica) and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Clora Herald.
The funeral service will be officiated by Bro. Ronald Renfro and Bro. Eldridge Renfro. Burial will be in the Kinser Cemetery with graveside military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104.
