Geneva Blanton Lane

Geneva Blanton Lane, age 89 of Daytona Beach, Florida, peacefully departed this life on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at The Gardens Health and Rehab Center in Daytona Beach. The Edmonson County native was born in the Grassland Community to the late Desmond and Nannie Harrell Blanton. She was preceded in death by her first husband of seven years, Leon Wood, and her second husband of twenty-eight years, William “Bill” Lane. 

Geneva was saved as a young girl at Pleasant Union United Baptist Church. She and Leon owned and operated H & H Restaurant in Brownsville. She later worked as a secretary at Kyrock Elementary School. Upon retirement, she remarried and moved to Daytona Beach. She and Bill started a new chapter in their lives and were active with the Neighborhood Watch program and actively supported the local police department. She also enjoyed hunting for treasures at yard sales and spending time with their friends and neighbors. 

She leaves to honor her memory— her siblings, Chloie Musick, Karren Littell (Bruce) and Britt Blanton (Pearlene); five nieces; two nephews; three great-nieces and two great-nephews. Besides her husbands and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Glendal Blanton. 

The interment will be in Sweeden Church Cemetery. .

Per her request, there will be no services.
