G.A. Cowles, age 74 of Chalybeate, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2007 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. He was born March 27, 1933 in Edmonson County to the late Geneva Albert and Tandy Denham Cowles. He was a self employed carpenter, retired from Firestone, a Baptist and the former bass singer for the Green River Boys. He is survived by his wife, Della Edna Cowles; two sons, Michael Anthony Cowles of Chalybeate and Kevin Randolph Cowles (Velma Louise) of Brownsville; two grandsons, Patrick Lee and Brandon Michael Cowles; six brothers, Leon Cowles (Edith), Edward Cowles (Sue) and Bobby Cowles (Jeanette) all of Louisville, Kenneth Cowles (Verma) of Brownsville, Richard Cowles (Patricia) of Chalybeate and Mark Ellis Cowles (Linda) of Wingfield; three sisters, Elizabeth Inez Oliver of Bowling Green, Martha Jane Miller (Virgil) of Bowling Green and Thelma Cowles of Bowling Green. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Horace and Harold Cowles and one sister Louise Cowles. Burial will be in Kinser cemetery.
