Emogene Madison

Emogene Madison, age 95 of Park City, passed away peacefully with her family  by her side on Monday, March 25, 2024 at The Hospice House in Bowling Green. The  Barren County native was born on July 17, 1928 to the late Owsley “O.B.” and Ellen Smith Boyd. She was married for 61 years to the late Horace “Rocky” Madison, who preceded her in death December 21, 2010.  

Emogene was a former beautician and owner of Emogene’s Beauty Shop. She also worked at Wondering Woods, and as a teachers' aide for Barren County Schools. She was the oldest living member of Park City United Methodist Church.

She leaves to honor her memory-- her children, Peggy Christy of Park City and Gary David Madison (Betsy) of Bowling Green; grandchildren, David Madison (Chrystal), Chris Madison (Sandra), Brandon Christy (Myrisa)  and Lindsay Christy; step grandchildren, Jacob Stevens (Cara) and Tyler Stevens (Shelbie); great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Madison (Austin), Fox Christy, River Christy and Hayden Evans; step great-grandchildren, Elisabeth, Joseph, Abigail, John, Jude, and Julian Stevens; great-great granddaughter, Madilyn Jones; sister-in-law, Jeanette Coates, along with several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mildred Ramey and Sara Cawthon, and son-in-law, Milton Christy.   

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
