Edgar Smith

Edgar L. Smith, age 89 of Mammoth Cave, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011 at his residence. He was born May 2, 1921 in McCreary County, KY to the late Lewis and Elsie Aldridge Smith. He was a World War II Army veteran, a laborer for Local Union #362 and a member of Stockholm United Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Sylvester Smith of Mammoth Cave; one son, Anthony Smith (Ruth) of Lerot, Ill.; one daughter, Betty Bragonier (Ronald) of Bloomington, Ill.; one brother, James Smith (Diane) of Hayworth, Ill.; two step sons, Vernon Wilson (Karen) of Ellsworth, Ill. and Frank Wilson of Mammoth Cave; three grandchildren, ten step grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Hubert Smith and one sister, Rhoda King. Burial will be at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington, Ill. at a later date. Cremation was chosen.
