Douglas Bean

1930-2023

Douglas Bean, age 92 of Pig, departed this life on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at The Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.  The Edmonson County native was born on October 19, 1930 to the late Lewis Bean and Marie Bean.  He was married to his wife of seventy-two years, Roberta McCombs Bean, until they were parted by her death just hours before his passing.

Douglas was a U.S. Navy Veteran as a M.A.R.S Member. He worked as a x-ray technician for Graves Gilbert Clinic, and was a member of Lehman Avenue Church of Christ.

He leaves to honor his memory— his son, Gary Bean (Theresa), grandchildren, Chris Bean (Selena), Michael Bean (Monica), Jason Bean (Lauren), Steven Bean (Ashley), brother, Bob Bean (Nella Faye), daughter-in-law Debbie Bean, and six great-grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his son, Larry Bean; grandson, Kevin Bean; sisters; Verneil Rush, Virginia Walters; and brother, Charles Bean.

Memorial contributions can be made to: Hospice of Southern Kentucky, American Cancer Society, or to the American Diabetes Associations.
