Doug Morton

Doug Morton, age 73 of Clay City, KY, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024. The Powell County native was born on April 29, 1951 to the late Woodford and Verna Mitchell Morton. He was married to the late Brenda Gail Morton. 

Doug worked as a truck driver and was a Christian. 

He leaves to honor his memory– four children, Shelia Morton-Sparks of Frankfort, Pam Mattingly of Clay City, Scott Morton (Kelly) of Loretta, and Michael “Crowder” Morton (Amanda) of Bee Spring, and two sisters Glinda Strange and Sue Everheart (Dave). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Shawna Morton, brothers, Earl Ray “Pokeberry” and Harry Morton, and sisters,  Juanita Crabtree and Vernice Crow.
