1933 - 2019

Dorothy F. Basham, age 85, of Brownsville, KY departed this life at Edmonson Health Center in Brownsville on Wednesday, July 3, 2019.  The Edmonson County native was born on November 28, 1933 to the late Hillard Saling and Josephine Crowder Saling. She was married to Elbert “Sonny” Basham, who survives.

Dorothy was the owner of Raymer's Grocery and a member of Providence General Baptist Church.

Besides her husband, she leaves to honor her memory— two daughters, Iris Lucas (Jack) of Newport News, VA and Gina Browning (Glenn) of Brownsville; one brother, Willard Saling (Tina) of Louisville; one step son, Richard Dewitt (Rhonda) of Leitchfield; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Steve Gann and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Raymer; one daughter, Patty Gann and foster son, Elvin Ryder.

Interment will be in Brownsville Cemetery.
