Daymon Sanders, 80, of Mammoth Cave passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Edmonson County to the late Ernie E. "Dick Pert" Sanders and Nealie Ritter Sanders. He was husband to the late Dean Jaggers Sanders and Jannie Cox Sanders of Mammoth Cave. He was former chief of Lincoln VFD and fireman at Dixie Suburban FD. He was a construction worker, retired right of way inspector for Kentucky State Dept. and a member of Union Light Missionary Baptist Church.

Besides wis wife Jannie Cox Sanders, he is survived by two sons: Steve Sanders (Alice) and Gary Sanders (Lynn); one daughter, Sandra Childress (Prock) all of Mammoth Cave; seven grandchildren, Amanda Sanders, Amberly Sanders, Chasity Tomes (Jimmy), Rachel Merideth (Johnny), Brittany McIntyre (Andrew), Matthew Sanders and Ashley Sanders; three step daughters, Kay Sanders, Tammy York (Roy) and Janice Minton all of Brownsville; one brother, Lowayne Sanders of Mammoth Cave; one sister, Ruby Madison (Charles) of Brownsville; several great grandchildren; four step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn Michael Sanders and one brother, Ralph Sanders.

Services will be officiated by Bro. Danny Wayne Sexton with burial in the Union Light cemetery.
