Darrell Vanmeter

Darrell "Bobby" VanMeter, 79, of Rocky Hill, KY, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in Rocky Hill, KY.

The Grayson Co. native was born July 27, 1932 to the late Arthur and Letha Rich VanMeter. He was a member of Kyrock Methodist Church, McLure Lodge #539 F&AM.  He was retired from Mallory's and a grounds keeper for Park Mammoth Resort.

He is survived by his wife, Nelma  Elizabeth Crump VanMeter of Rocky Hill; two daughters:  Millie "Billy" Hayes (Vincent P.) of Sweeden, KY and Terry Kemble of Bowling Green, KY;  two  sons: Dennis Van Meter of Rocky Hill, KY and  Darrell Van Meter of Smiths Grove, KY;   two  brothers: Roy Van Meter of Smiths Grove, KY and Ova Van Meter of Louisville, KY; nine grandchildren; one step grandchild and fourteen great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by three brothers: Walter, Cody and Jr. Van Meter and one sister, Wanda Brooks.

Masonic services will be at 7:00 pm Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel.

Burial will be in the Hawkins Cemetery.   Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to:  Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Rd., Bowling Green, Ky.  42104.
