Christine "Chris" Harp Abbott

Christine “Chris” Harp Abbott, age 82 of Bowling Green, KY was surrounded by her loving family when she peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. A devoted mother, sister and grandmother, Christine will be cherished for the love and laughter she brought to her children and family. 

Born on December 14, 1941 in the Kyrock community of Edmonson County, Christine was the beloved daughter of the late Herbert and Clella Poteet Harp. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she was saved as young girl in a tent revival. She later became a member of Midway United Missionary Baptist Church. While her earthly journey has come to an end, she is now embraced by the Lord, reunited with her parents, and rejoicing in eternal life.

She leaves to honor her memory— her children, Greg Lindsey (Donna) of Bowling Green, Donna Young (Kelvin) of Franklin and Brent Lindsey (Mildred) of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren, Lindsay Edwards, Jeremy Lindsey, Derek Lindsey (Casey), Ashlee Williams (J.D.), Kristopher Coles (Brittany), Colby Lindsey, Alex Lindsey and Kaitlin Lindsey; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Carlene Probus of Louisville and Joyce Vincent of Brownsville; special friends, Mike and Leah Booker and family, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Trulie Lashley, Carlos and Truman “Bud” Harp. 

Interment will be in Bee Spring Church Cemetery.
