1942 - 2023

Charles D. Goins, age 81 of Bee Spring departed this life on Friday, July 14, 2023 at his residence.  The Edmonson County native was born on April 14, 1942 to the late Alvin and Vina Hunt Goins.  He was married to his best friend, Polly Sanders Goins, who survives.

Charles was a faithful member of Jock United Baptist Church, until his health began to fail.  He was also a 32nd degree mason with the Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge #355 F&AM and Hardin Masonic Lodge Chapter #195.  Charles worked for years as a heavy equipment operator, plumber and electrician. He always enjoyed family gatherings spent laughing, singing and playing their instruments together.

Besides his wife, Polly, he leaves to honor his memory— his daughters, Renee Rich (Mark) and Felicia Janes (Glenn) all of Brownsville; a son, Samuel Sanders (Debbie) of Mammoth Cave;  five grandchildren, Kyle Lindsey (Kisha)Brandon Lindsey (Jessica), Kelsey Thomas (Joseph), Dathan Janes and Megan Coates (Adam): eight great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Goins of Bee Spring and special niece Connie Meredith. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Troy Goins, Mary Wilson, Elmer Goins, David Goins, Dinah Woodall and Woneta Goins.

Interment will be in Hill Grove Church Cemetery
