Charles "C.W." Wells, Sr.

Charles “C.W.” Wells, Sr., age 82 of Brownsville, departed this life on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at his daughter’s home in Clarksville, TN. The Jefferson County native was born on October 24, 1942 to the late Lucille Denham Wheatly. He was married to his devoted wife, Linda Lamar Wells, until they were parted by her passing on February 25, 2018. 

C.W. retired as a truck driver from Roadway Express, a career that allowed him to travel, see the world, and meet people from various walks of life. Outside of his professional life, C.W. was known for his diverse talents and was often referred to as a jack of all trades. He had a love for woodworking, often crafting projects that showcased both his skill and creativity. C.W. took great joy in completing tasks that brought happiness to his beloved wife, Linda.

He leaves to honor his memory— his children, Debora Wells-McManus (Shane) of Clarksville, TN and Chuck Wells (Denise) of Brownsville; his grandchildren, Brad Wells, Austin McManus, Brittany McManus, Destiny McManus, Damion McManus, Xander McManus, Brittany Wells, Courtney Wells, Whitney Wells and Dylon Wells and great-grandchildren, Kari Wells, Brent Merryman, Kadynce Wells, Julian Thurston, Journey Mefford, Elias Wells, Waylon and William Merryman, Kennady Wells, Lively Thurston, Roman Barnes and Jocelyn Mefford, along with several in-laws, nieces and nephews that he adored. Besides his wife and mother, Linda and Lucille, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, George Nelson Wells, Jr. and Betty Jo Weck. 

Interment will be in Sweeden Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Sweeden Church Cemetery, c/o Danny Vincent.
