Byron Quinn "Bud" Slaughter, Sr., age 87 of Mammoth Cave, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007 at his residence. The Nolin native was born October 16, 1919 to the late James Wallace Slaughter and Myrtle Lora Watkins Slaughter and married to the late Dorothy " Dot" Slaughter. He was a retired District Sales Manager for B&O (Chessie System) Railroad, a methodist and a World War II Navy Veteran. He is survived by one son, Byron Q. Slaughter, Jr. and wife Suzanne of New Albany, IN.; two daughters, Sue Anne Effertz of Overland Park, KS. and Deborah K. Marasa and husband Mike of Nashville, TN.; one brother, James W. "June" Slaughter of Hespero, CA; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Services will be officiated by Rev. Alvin Herron with military rites at Nolin Church cemetery.
