Bro. Woosley was saved at a young age at Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church where he belonged until he moved his letter to New Home General Baptist Church in 1960. He was ordained as a Baptist minister on July 19, 1985 and pastored several churches. He was also a member of the Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge #355 F&AM and the Local 181 Operators Union.
Following his retirement as a Foreman from TVA in 1997, most often you could find Charles in his garden that he took great pride in. You never left his home without leaving with a gift portion of produce from the garden he used to feed bodies and feed souls.
Charles and Joyce were married in Jeffersonville, Indiana, November 1955 and celebrated the arrival of their first daughter, Joyanna in November 1956. While expecting the arrival of Teresa in 1961, they returned home to Edmonson County. The third of the trio of daughters, Melanie, was born in January 1972.
As a Grandfather, Charles never missed an opportunity to encourage and raise up his grandchildren, often times using an anecdote or a stroll through the garden to offer his praise, instill wisdom and show a path to a Christ-focused life.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He will be dearly missed.
