Beatrice Irene Penner

Beatrice Penner, age 96 of Chalybeate, departed this earthly realm on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the Edmonson Nursing and Rehab Center, surrounded by her cherished family. The Edmonson County native was born on February 20, 1928, to the late Frank and Harriet Skaggs Lindsey. She was married to her devoted husband, James Floyd Penner, until they were parted by his passing on December 22, 2007. 

Beatrice’s life spanned nearly a century of memories woven with the threads of love, hard work, and faith that steadfastly guided her through life’s seasons. She spent many fruitful years as an assembly line worker at Cutler Hammer, her hands steady and sure as they contributed to the craft of manufacturing. Beyond her professional endeavors, Beatrice's spirit was nurtured within the embrace of the New Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated member. 

It was Beatrice’s role as a mother, grandmother, friend, and confidant that defined her very essence. She nurtured the hearts around her with kindness and compassion, always ready to lend an ear or offer words of encouragement. Memories of her warmth will forever linger in the hearts of those she touched.

She leaves to honor her memory— her daughters, Vera Lee Borah (Butch) of Bowling Green and Eva Lynch (Phillip) of Chalybeate; granddaughters, Melissa Collins (Tony) and Lindsey Wilson (Travis) and great-grandchildren, Jacob Wilson, Anna Wilson and Kendall Collins. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Maxine Davis and Reynold Lindsey

Interment will be in Brownsville Cemetery.
