Alvin Barbee, 86, of Cedar Springs, KY, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014 in Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born May 9, 1928 to the late Omer and Lillie Parker Barbee and was the husband of Pearl Doyle Barbee who survives. He was a Korean war army veteran, a retired vocational agriculture teacher for Edmonson Co. and Russell Co. school systems and a farmer. He was a member of Brownsville Odd Fellows, Kentucky Retired Teachers Assoc., church clerk and deacon of Cedar Springs United Baptist Church.
Beside his wife he is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Sanders (Tony) of Cedar Springs; one granddaughter, Lillee Ashton Sanders of Cedar Springs; one brother, Belvy Barbee (Bonnie) of Rocky Hill; two sisters, Virginia Houchin (George) of Cedar Springs and Pat Demunbrun (John) of Bowling Green; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Davis (Doc) of Louisville and Joyce Jordan of Brownsville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be officiated by Bro. Bobby Joe Meredith with burial in the Lambert Cemetery with military honors by the Nesbit Alexander Memorial Post # 6937 VFW.
