Allene Stanley Rowe

Allene Stanley Rowe, age 91 of Cave City, was surrounded by her family at her home when she peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Allene was born on March 18, 1933 in Clintwood, Virginia to the late Crit and Goldie Senter Stanley, and was the oldest of three children. On August 3, 1948, Allene married the love of her life, the late Avery Rowe, and together they had nine children. 

Everyone who knew Allene could tell you how much she loved her family, her chickens and cats, and going to bingo and the casino. Allene was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan, and was the biggest Jeff Gordon fan. She is known for many things, but most especially for her delicious homemade biscuits and apple pies.

She leaves to honor her memory— her eight children, Larry Rowe (Toni), Lovella Pedigo (Guy), Roger Rowe (Lyvonne) all of Edinburgh, IN, James Allen Rowe (Pam) of Park City, KY, Melissa Axsom (Jason) of Oden, IN, Rhonda Hounshell (Dave) of Edinburgh, IN, Sandy Lopez (Juan) of Lake Station, IN and Candy Coha (Jeff) of Greenwood, IN; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and her cherished caregiver of three years, Angela Esters (Greg), that she loved like family. She was also preceded in death by her companion of thirty-three years, Victor Smith; her son, Barry Rowe; grandson, Shawn Clements; in-laws, Kay Shockley Rowe and Jack Hounshell; siblings, Willie Stanley and Lorene Berg; brother-in-law, Bob Berg and niece, Barbara Stroud. 

Interment will be in Rowe Family Cemetery.
